„Fire Signs“

Fire Signs is a photographic series and performance inspired by the artists’ time on Fire Island, New York. Taking the 1940s photography of American painters Margaret French, Jared French and Paul Cadmus as a point of departure and iconographic reference, those photos were restaged, and those group affinities were reenacted in a contemporary space. A dialogue performed by the artists reflects Fire Island’s current status as a gay holiday destination.
